This position has been filled. The Carolina Renaissance Festival is looking for a Seasonal Gate Attendant. This hourly position is for full time work, with several different shifts available and may include weekends and/or weekdays, up until the first of December. The primary responsibilities are to greet individuals as they enter the property in their vehicles, checking credentials, and directing deliveries. You will be assigned to a stationary, portable structure for the performance of these duties.

Also assist with administrative tasks that include, but may not be limited to:

Cabriolets are push and pull carts that patrons pay to ride in to be transported from place to place within the Festival village. Each Cabriolet ride is operated by two people. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older.

The Stage Crew supervise the mechanical and production needs of their stage. Depending upon the needs of the specific stages and acts, members of the crew may handle responsibilities such as sweeping the stage, arranging the benches, calling up a crowd, hanging signs, ushering patrons, checking posted stage schedules, assisting with hat pass, as well as set up and take down of props. On some stages, working with a sound system may be required.

• Appearances by Festival performers at community and media events that occur both at the Festival and offsite in the Charlotte-metro and surrounding areas.
• Special events that happen onsite at the Festival such as costume contests, weddings, vow renewals, PubCrawl, BrewFest, and visits by members of the media and/or sponsors.
• Support events for performers such as auditions, workshops, and rehearsals.
• Some related administrative tasks will also be assigned as needed.SCHEDULE:
This is a seasonal position with a guarantee of 40 hours per week starting in June and ending on Wednesday, November 23rd.
• June – September: Primarily a Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, office position with 40 hours per week. Occasionally events may require hours in the early morning, evenings, and on weekends. When these events occur, we will work with you in advance to adjust your Mon. – Fri. office hours so that you can have ample time off while maintaining the 40 hours per week.
• October – November: Primarily Saturdays & Sundays, typically 7:00 am – 6:30 pm (Festival dates). 11.5 hours each day / 23 for the weekend. We will work with you in advance to schedule the remaining 17.5 hours during Mon. – Fri. so that you can have ample time off to counterbalance the busier Festival weekend schedule and maintain the 40 hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must:
1. Be outgoing and possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
2. Possess basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
3. Have an interest in special event planning.
4. Relate well with others and work in a team environment.
5. Exhibit attention to detail.
6. Be comfortable working outdoors and lifting / moving pop-up tent, small folding table, 2 folding chairs, and a few small boxes of printed promotional materials.
7. Must have reliable transportation spacious enough to accommodate above mentioned items. Mileage reimbursement provided.
8.
